Mortgage Servicing

FAQs

No. The terms of your loan (e.g., your interest rate, the length of your loan, and other key aspects of your mortgage) are not affected by this servicing transfer. In some cases, small adjustments may occur due to factors such as escrow analysis, recent payments, and other research conducted during your loan’s onboarding. Any changes will be reflected in your Security First Credit Union statements, and we’ll be happy to explain them.

You can also pay without a coupon by sending a check or money order with your Security First Credit Union loan number included in the memo, and mail it to:

During the first sixty (60) days after the transfer date, your previous mortgage servicer will forward any payments they receive to Security First Federal Credit Union, and we will apply the payment to your loan.

Yes. Every month, you will receive a detailed statement in the mail with an attached payment coupon that you may use to remit your payment. You can also set up payment options through bill pay or transfers through your online banking account.

Yes, if you currently have escrow funds held for the payment of your taxes and/or insurance premiums, Security First Credit Union will continue collecting these funds and making those payments, even payments due during the loan transfer period. If you have a tax repayment plan or are on a deferral tax plan with your local taxing authority, our policy regarding these plans may be different than your previous servicer. Please contact Security First Credit Union at 956-661-4000 to confirm.

Security First Credit Union complies with the Real Estate Settlement Procedure Act, which requires us to perform a periodic analysis of your loan. Security First Credit Union generally performs an escrow analysis annually on loans shortly after we make the largest scheduled disbursements from your escrow account. This is usually your property tax payment.

Security First Credit Union requires a 2-month cash reserve in your escrow account, unless your state requires a shorter period. This may cause an adjustment to the total monthly payment if your prior servicer used a different cash reserve. You will receive an escrow review statement each time an analysis is performed, detailing the history of the escrow account and providing notice of any changes to the total monthly payment.

Yes. Please ask your insurance carrier to change the mortgagee clause to:

Security First Credit Union
Its Successors and/or assigns

You can change your mailing address, telephone number, and email address by contacting our Call Center at 956-661-4000, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

You may request a written payoff quote by calling our Call Center at 956-661-4000. To ensure all payoff amounts quoted are accurate, we do not provide verbal payoff information.

If your account was modified prior to the transfer, the modification terms will remain unchanged. If you have questions regarding your pending modification, please contact Security First Credit Union at 956-661-4000, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
